Coaches
Dave Allen 1995 – 2014 (20 Years).
Coach Dave Allen was the first and only coach that Judge would know for the first 20 years of its existence. The only way to describe Dave Allen is “LEGEND”. Nobody on the sidelines in Utah history has coached more years, won more games, and been to more championship games. In his 20 years as a Bulldog, he had a record of 202-96, 3 State Championships (1995, 2000, 2001) in 7 appearances (Runner-up 2002, 2007, 2009, 2011). Coach Allen was inducted into the Utah Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2007. He was the US Lacrosse Coach of the Year award winner in 2001 and under his leadership, Judge produced 3 All-Americans, 1 All-Academic, 2 Assistant COY and countless All-State and All-Region players. Coach capped his career by being present with the ULA Legacy Award “for 20 years of dedication and commitment to not only the Judge Memorial lacrosse program but also to the growth of lacrosse here in Utah”.
Chuck Gosselin 2015 – 2016 (2 Years)
Coach Chuck Gosselin was the second coach in Judge history taking over after Coach Allen retired following the 2014 season. A member of Coach Allen’s staff since 2006 and the JV Head Coach, Coach Gosselin was the natural choice to lead the Bulldogs. In 2 seasons he accumulated a 25-10 record and took his teams to the Class A playoffs twice including a State Quarter-Finals game in 2015.
Dan Duggan 2017 (1 Year)
Coach Dan Duggan stepped up to the plate for the 2016/2017 school year after Coach Gosselin stepped away and the program could not find a permanent, committed, Head Coach that fit the Judge tradition. Coach Duggan had been with the Judge program since 2009 and was the FS Head Coach, and an Assistant Coach for JV and Varsity. Coach Duggan also found a way to Coach the 7/8 grade youth team through the years. After filling in for the year and taking Judge to the Class B playoffs, he stayed with the program as the Head JV Coach, Varsity Assistant Coach, and 7/8 youth Head Coach until 2019 when he was elected to serve in local government. Coach Duggan was honored in 2017 as the UHSLL Person of the Year as part of the High School Sanctioning Committee. Coach Duggan not only helped to establish lacrosse in St. George but is the only 3-time Utah Youth (ULA and IMLax) President and continues to lead the “Grow the Player, Grow the League, Grow the Game” mission of IMLax.
Braeden Daly 2018 – 2021 (4 Years)
Coach Braeden Daly took over from Coach Duggan for the 2018/2019 school year. Coach Daly had the difficult task of keeping his program together during the COVID season of 2019/2020 after playing only 2 games and into the 2020/2021 season. Coached Daly planned to coach the 2021/2022 season but due to low numbers after graduating 13 seniors the program was forced to take a year off. In 4 years at the helm Coach Daly amassed a 26-27 record that included a Class C State Championship in 2019 and a Class B Quarter-Finals appearance in 2018.
Jeff Brzoska 2023 - Present (3 Years)
Coach Jeff Brzoska enters his fourth season as the Judge Head Coach after 13 years of coaching lacrosse at 2 other programs in Utah. Coach Brzoska spent his first 10 years in the Park City youth and high school programs. Coach Brzoska was part of 3 Park City State Championship teams (2014, 2018, 2019) in 4 appearances (Runner-up 2015). After leaving Park City he moved on to Corner Canyon HS for 3 years where he was the JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant. In 3 years, his JV teams went 35-1-2 and the Varsity teams went 51-1 capturing State Championships in 2021 and 2022. Jeff was also instrumental in helping Utah be one of the only states to play games during the COVID season of 2020.
In Coach Brzoska’s 3 seasons at Judge that began with a rebuilding year after the school did not field any teams in the spring of 2022, the program has grown to 3 teams. The Varsity team went from 9-8 and a Semifinals loss to 15-6 and17-3 and two 4A State Championship and the first USA Lacrosse All-Academic recipient since 2012 and the first USA Lacrosse All-American since 2003. Overall, the student athletes have been awarded 2 USA Lacrosse All-Americans, 3 USA Lacrosse All-Academics, 3 UHSAA Academic All-States, 16 1st Team 4A All-State, 2 4A Player of the Year, and 2 4A Playoff MVP’s with Brzoska at the helm. He has also won 2 Region Coach of the Year, the 2024 USA Lacrosse Coach of the Year, and the 2025 NILCA Man of the Year awards.
